Workshop: Exploring Drypoint Printmaking
What you will learn: Spend two creative evenings learning drypoint printmaking. This fun, non-toxic technique produces prints with fresh and expressive lines by incising marks directly onto the printmaking plate. In this workshop, you will have the freedom to experiment with other printmaking techniques to produce a range of unique, creative prints.
You will learn
• How to transfer your design onto an acetate printing plate
• Traditional and experimental drypoint mark-making techniques
• Fundamental intaglio printmaking techniques
• How to create prints using an etching press
• Creative ways of combining techniques to enhance your prints.
• Tools and materials you need to continue printmaking after the workshop.
You will be able to trace your image directly onto the transparent plate. No drawing skills necessary!
