Workshop: Colour the Rain: Decorate your own Umbrella
What you will learn: At Stirling Street Art Centre, we’re turning rainy-day essentials into walking works of art.
Join this relaxed and inspiring 18+ workshop where you’ll transform a plain green Bunnings umbrella into something uniquely yours. Whether you’re drawn to bold florals, calming nature-inspired designs, abstract colour play, or something deeply personal, this is your chance to create an umbrella that tells your story.
This is a hands-on, beginner-friendly session. You’ll explore simple techniques including cutting, gluing, and basic hand sewing using a running stitch. No prior experience needed just a willingness to play, experiment, and let your creativity wander.
Think of it as part art workshop, part creative escape. There’s no pressure for perfection here, just colour, texture, and the quiet satisfaction of making something with your hands.
What’s included:
A plain green umbrella ready to transform
A vibrant selection of fabrics and materials (feel free to bring some items from home)
Guidance through simple stitching and design techniques
A welcoming, supportive creative space
What to expect:
Gentle step-by-step guidance (with room to do your own thing)
Inspiration from sample designs (like the one pictured)
Plenty of time to create at your own pace
By the end of the series you will leave with a one-of-a-kind umbrella that turns even the greyest day into something a little brighter.
✨ Come as you are. Make something unexpected. Take home a piece of joy.
