Turn a Rainy Day Essential into a Work of Art. At Stirling Street Art Centre, we’re transforming everyday umbrellas into colourful, joy‑filled creations you’ll be proud to carry.

Step into a relaxed, inspiring  workshop where you’ll reinvent a classic umbrella using fabric, colour, and your own imagination. Whether you love bold florals, gentle nature motifs, playful abstract shapes, or something deeply personal, this is your chance to design an umbrella that reflects you.

This hands on session is perfect for beginners. You’ll learn simple techniques cutting, gluing, and basic hand‑sewing with a running stitch while enjoying the freedom to experiment and explore. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play.

Think of it as part art workshop, part creative escape. No pressure, no perfection just colour, texture, and the quiet joy of making something by hand.

Suitable Ages: 18+
Bring with you: All equipment will be provided.  A plain green large umbrella will be provided, if you would like to bring along your own umbrella in a preferred colour or style (i.e. travel size) you are welcome to do so

About the Facilitator:
Marie Wilkinson has always followed the pull of creativity, from childhood days spent happily colouring for hours, to a lifelong exploration of sewing, mosaic, and painting. Her work is guided by her signature approach, ‘No Paintbrushes’, which invites people to create in tactile, unexpected ways, without rules or pressure.

In 2024, she completed a Diploma in Creative Arts and Health, bringing together her passion for art, wellbeing, and connection. Marie creates spaces where people can slow down, experiment, and rediscover the simple joy of making something with their hands.

Bring your own lunch (if all-day workshop) and water or drinks. Tea and coffee making facilities and available. A fridge and microwave are available on site for use during workshop. We are conveniently located across from Centrepoint if you need to purchase your lunch or snacks.
