Clay Boat Collage: Mini Masterpiece with Annie Williams_T3_2026

In this playful mixed‑media workshop, you’ll shape small boats from air dry clay, imprinting them with rich textures and expressive details. Once dry, you’ll bring them to life with layered acrylics, metallic highlights, and varnish for a luminous finish.

Over 2 workshops Your artwork comes together on a beautifully textured backing board, where soft, muted colours set the scene for your clay pieces. Driftwood, shells, leaves, starfish, and other natural treasures complete your composition, adding charm, movement, and a sense of coastal storytelling.

Perfect for anyone who loves tactile creativity, mixed‑media art, and transforming simple materials into something magical.

Bring with you:
Wear clothes  you don't mind getting clay on
Ruler, pencil and eraser. Small cardboard box to carry your clay pieces.
Found objects you may want to include in your collage.

Also useful to bring if you have them:
Your favourite brushes, paints and palettes you prefer to use.
Aprons and cleanup equipment.

About the Facilitator
Annie has been working full time as an artist for the past few years after a long career as an Art teacher. After so much experience teaching Art, she has developed an excellent understanding of how to demonstrate techniques that will then allow students to find their own style and to embrace the difference in how we all see our surroundings and interpret them on a canvas. Annie's  paintings reflect her fascination with the way water reflects light and the many different moods of the ocean. She has also travelled extensively in WA and has a deep appreciation for our inland and northwest landscapes with their intense colours, vast skies and rugged beauty.
