SHP Make Your Own Backpack with Kate Maloney

Ages 11-16yrs 

In this two day workshop you will create your own Backpack from an old pair of jeans. 

Wednesday 10.30-2pm

Thursday 10.30-2pm

In the first session you will be designing your bag. You'll be discussing the fastening and construction. 

The second session will be constructing the bag. 

Material to bring: old pair of jeans.  

Parent helpers are welcome however must hold a valid Working with Children Check and present it to SSAC staff before the commencement of the workshop.

Please bring a water bottle and you might want to wear clothes that are suitable for messy activities.

About Kate Maloney: 

I believe that my education and work life have prepared me to deliver workshops which will be both engaging and
educative. I have a broad knowledge of textiles, costume history, costume construction and design as well as puppetry
construction and design. 

The main theme that runs through my art and workshops is using materials that are second hand, and with
that teaching the importance of reusing, recycling and repurposing materials.
