Discover the Magic of Indigo with textile artist Kitty Wilson Brown

Kitty has grown and researched Japanese indigo for the past four years and invites you to experience the beautiful process of indigo dyeing.
For this class pleaser bring your own yarn, fibre or fabric to dye! Handspun yarn or commercial is fine... British yarn even better!
Whether it’s wool for your next knitting project or yarn spun from your own homegrown flax, you’ll have the chance to transform it with the rich blues of indigo.
During the workshop you will also learn the basics of creating a very simple indigo vat using British -grown, Japanese indigo, giving you the knowledge to continue experimenting with indigo dyeing at home.
What to bring
:

* A MAXIMUM of 100g of yarn, fibre or fabric in total - a few different mini skeins are fine
• Yarn must be clean and scoured (washed and ready for dyeing)
• Natural fibres only

Wear old clothes or bring an apron

Come along, experiment with plant dye, and watch the magic of indigo appear as your yarn changes from green to deep blue in the air. Perfect for knitters, spinners, weavers and anyone curious about natural colour.

No prior experience is necessary — just bring your curiosity and creativity.
