Ever wanted to learn to crochet but felt completely overwhelmed by where to start? Perhaps you've tried before, got tangled in tutorials, or looked at amigurumi and thought "absolutely not".
This relaxed, beginner-friendly taster workshop is designed to break down those barriers and help crochet finally click. Together, we'll learn the foundations of crocheting in the round, including slip knots, chain stitches and double crochet, while creating a simple face scrubbie using natural fibres.
Perfect for complete beginners or knitters curious about crochet, this supportive session is all about building confidence, asking questions and learning at your own pace in a calm, welcoming environment.
All materials are included, and you'll leave with your yarn, pattern and the skills to continue practising at home.
Made in the Button Room is a Gloucestershire-based crochet design studio founded by Natalie, whose work brings together contemporary amigurumi design with a respect for traditional craft. Best known for the Button Room Minis, a collection of character-led crochet patterns and kits, the brand focuses on natural fibres, particularly British wool, and thoughtful, high quality, small-scale production.
Alongside their design work, they offer carefully curated tools, materials, and handcrafted textile pieces, as well as workshops and 1:1 tuition. Shaped by a personal journey into crochet through chronic illness, the business champions slower making, skill-building and the enduring value of handmade craft.
