ST JUST MINERS' CHAPEL, TR19 7HT
Description
St Just Miners' Chapel charity is thrilled to welcome The Oggymen!
For over a decade, The Oggymen have championed contemporary Cornish folk music and celebrated the songs that bind us to our surroundings, to our community, and to our history. From the powerful anthems of Cornish miners to the lively songs of sailors and fishermen, you will hear classic songs reimagined and experience the humor, passion, soul, and friendship that has made The Oggymen a much-loved and acclaimed part of Cornish song and music.
This promises to be an unforgettable evening, uniting audiences in the very essence of Cornwall’s distinctive community spirit in an iconic venue that is a unique expression of our local history and identity.
AND there's more! Thanks to The Oggymen's support for the Chapel your ticket purchase will be donated to our charities fundraising appeal to buy and preserve St Just Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. See our website for more information on our appeal
Grab your tickets now and get ready to celebrate Cornish culture, honour the legacy of a very significant heritage building, and have a night to remember.
Just to say - there is no reserved seating for this event.
📣 TELL THE OTHERS - SEE YOU HERE 🤩
Oh, and before you go - please read our FAQ about what to expect from the Chapel. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
Do you sell food and drinks? We do. From 6:30PM (until the performance starts at 7:30PM) we will have pasties and refreshments on sale and again during the interval. Please BRING CASH. We would recommend pre ordering your Pasty Supper as there will be limited availability on the night. You can do that as part of your ticket purchase. We do not serve alcohol but there are some great pubs close by that would welcome your visit before and afterwards.
Where is the nearest parking? Lafrowda Car Park is a very short, level walk away. It is free. Alternatively Cape Cornwall Secondary School, which is roughly the same distance away has spaces available after 5PM but overnight parking is not permitted. There is no parking at the Chapel.
It is a Chapel, will it be warm inside? How comfortable are the Pews? Given the size and scale of the Chapel it is hard to heat, we will have had the heating on all day to prepare but we know that this will only take the edge off so please wrap up warm - and if you feel the cold, feel free to bring a blanket. And the pews? They're better if you bring a cushion with.
How accessible is the Chapel? There is step free access into the building, an accessible toilet and downstairs pew seating with a very small step up into the boxes. There are also dedicated viewing spaces for wheelchair users. Please email info@stjustminerschapel and we will get in touch to help you plan your visit with us.
This is a fundraiser. How will my ticket purchase price be used? The ticket price will all be used towards our charities goal of purchasing the St Just Wesleyan Miners' Chapel which is intended to be sold by the owners this year. Our plans for the future are to keep the doors open for community, cultural and spiritual use. More details are on our website.
Why the booking fee? In order for us to sell tickets online and take payment for these tickets we need to use online services which charge fees. We have looked around to see how best we can help reduce these fees and the good people of Ticket Tailor have given us a 50% discount to support our charities efforts.
