Moonlight Walk 2025

Get ready to sparkle and shine! 

The much-loved Moonlight Walk is back, so it’s time to gather your friends, family, and best glittery outfits for an unforgettable night under the stars. This seven-mile circular route will take you through the beautiful streets of York, all to support St Leonard’s Hospice, proudly celebrating 40 years of caring for our community.

Year after year, the enthusiasm and energy of our walkers lights up the city, and this year will be no different. Not only will you enjoy a fantastic evening, but you'll also be helping to make a real difference. 

When and where?

• Date: Saturday 13 September
• Check-in: From 7pm at the Hospice on Tadcaster Road
• Walk start time: 9pm

Before setting off, soak up the buzzing atmosphere with live music from Tri-Starrs, a sensational Sparkle Party from YO1 Radio, fun games, and a group warm-up session guaranteed to get you in the spirit!

Highlights:

• A free Moonlight Walk T-shirt

• Prizes for the best dressed, so bring your best sparkling self!  
• Fun stalls and games, plus sweets and hot drinks to keep you going
• A fully marshalled route, with encouragement every step of the way
• Access to toilet facilities along the route
• A well-deserved bacon sandwich (or vegetarian option) when you cross the finish line

You’ll also receive a welcome pack via email, complete with all the event details, plus handy tips on how to maximise your fundraising.

Sign up before 15 August to secure your exclusive, free Moonlight Walk T-shirt. If you register after this date, you'll still receive a T-shirt, but it’ll be a classic plain blue St Leonard’s one.

Parking for the evening is available at nearby York College.

• Tickets are non-refundable.
• The event is subject to local and national restrictions. If this event has to be cancelled any entries will be transferred to the 2026 event.
• I understand that I am entering into the St Leonard's Moonlight Walk of my own choosing and no liability will be placed on the organisers for any injury sustained or any property damaged or lost whilst participating in the event.
• I confirm that I have no medical conditions which would endanger myself or others taking part.
• I understand that St Leonard’s Hospice may take photographs or film me taking part in the event and permit them to use my images for event and future promotional purposes.
• I confirm that I will agree to and follow any instructions or guidance given by the event organisers on the day.
