The Hanging Stars, a Cosmic Folk Rock four-piece band hailing from London.
They evoke classic sounds from the past, from The Byrds via Big Star to The Feelies, Spiritualized, Teenage Fanclub, and Tom Petty. Think Lou Reed and the Velvets jamming with Gorkys Zygotic Mynci.
Richard Olson (guitar/vocals), Charlie Salvidge (drums/vocals), Paul Milne (bass/vocals), and Patrick Ralla (guitars/keys/vocals) will be playing tracks from their recently launched 6th album, Just A Day, recorded at Edwyn Collins’ Clashnarrow Studios in Helmsdale, and also delving into their rich back catalogue.
You can expect dazzling four-part harmonies, shimmering twelve-string guitars, and chiming songs that touch on themes of longing, new beginnings, the fragility of the everyday, and create a rush of luminous, cosmic joy.
We (Amanda, Ivan and Jeremy) were really curious and saw them play in March 2026. They were so good that we asked them if they’d come and play for you. We’re glad they said yes.
