Join Stoke-on-Trent coach to National March for Palestine
Sat 13 Jan 2024 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM
City Central Mosque, ST1 3AY
Description
Until recently, our governments have battened down the hatches and ignored our calls. Parliament voted against a ceasefire and our movement has been derided by politicians and in the press and has been treated with suspicion by the authorities. Yet, our message has cracked through. Both Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and recently appointed Foreign Secretary David Cameron have called for a 'sustainable ceasefire'. The Labour Party have echoed such calls. In Stoke-on-Trent, after much deliberation, our city council has explicitly called for a ceasefire. None of this would have happened if it were not for all the work you have put into this movement and into making our rulers know that it is us, the people, who truly hold the power in society.
We cannot let up though. As long as bombs and bullets continue to rain on the Palestinian people, we must continue to act in solidarity. It is in this spirit, whilst we thank you for your efforts thus far, that we ask you to recommit yourself to the struggle in the New Year and join us on Saturday 13th January, as we travel to London to join the next big march for Palestine.
We will be organising coaches from Stoke-on-Trent to London. You can book your coach tickets here. The coach will be setting off from City Central Mosque, Regent Road, ST1 3AY. Brothers and sisters will be assembling for Fajr (morning) prayers at 7am, and the coach will be leaving no later than 7.30am. We will be leaving London at 5pm.
This is our opportunity to stand with Palestine, force this government to begin to act on their timid calls for a 'sustainable ceasefire', and make sure the powers that be hear our voices. Book your tickets and join us in the struggle.
