There may be a formal ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel’s colonial occupation continues. Donald Trump threatens to transform Gaza into a resort for real estate development and private profit without the input of the indigenous Palestinian people, whilst the Israeli military collaborates with settlers to burrow through the West Bank and marginalise the Palestinian presence. The British government, notably under Keir Starmer’s reign, has enthusiastically supported the Zionist state’s colonial war.

The global mass movement for Palestinian freedom and justice that has risen in response to this horrendous state of affairs has seen millions protest, stage sit-ins and march in defence of anticolonial liberation. In Stoke, our 18 month old Palestine Solidarity Campaign has organised multiple demonstrations and marches, supported countless more, sent multiple coaches to national marches in London, hosted several public events, and launched a county-wide divestment campaign.

It is in this context that Stoke PSC will be hosting our 2025 Open Meeting. As well as motions and elections to the committee, we will be holding a social where we can all take a breath and catch up with each other. Light refreshments will be available. Register for the Open Meeting here.
