COURSE CONTENT: This course is our flagship course 'Vocal Technique', which introduces singers to their voices and helps them gain knowledge of the voice both anatomically and aurally. This is done through: PowerPoint workshop, practical application sessions, 1:1 masterclasses (within small groups seminars), discussion, listening and annotation sessions. The emphasis is on physical strength and efficiency of technique for voice. Learning about the anatomical and physiological aspects of the voice which are useful for singers to know. We will also be working to replace worry about whether the voice will 'be its best today' with practical steps, knowledge and physical repetition of technique. There will be fewer participants on this course so much more of it will be dedicated to 1:1 small cohort masterclasses. 

WHO IS IT FOR: This course is suitable for those who have been to a Vocal Technique before or those who have some experience of singing live, solo. And those singers who are dedicated to gaining knowledge of the voice, doing practical voice work and progress their singing. This course will be demanding and intense at times as well as very fun, incredibly enlightening and brilliantly supportive. If you tire easily, this is not the course for you. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES: We will be singing some specially arranged a' Capella pieces and traditional folk song together as a group. We will prepare our bodies with Targeted exercises for the muscles most important to singing, then we will prepare our voices for singing with a 'warm-up' each morning. There will be sessions on anatomy and physiology of the head and neck and respiratory system. There will be sessions on the Complete Vocal Institute research findings/system. You will learn about how to take care of your voice in various contexts and learn the most up-to-date vocabulary for how to describe what you can hear the human voice doing. And as always, new friends and lots of lovely food!

We allow just a deposit payment to book and secure your place on any and every course. This deposit amount is currently £150

If you notify us of your cancellation within 3+months of the course you will receive £100 of your £150 deposit back.

Any Notification after this time, regardless of reason shall not be deemed a reasonable amount of time for us to re-fill your place so all of the deposit will be withheld. For this reason we strongly advise you to book separate event/travel insurance so that you may recover all of your expenses should unforeseen circumstances arise. We can no longer afford the costs of last minute refunds, we are a micro business with very fine margins and have not taken this decision lightly.

We will email you some weeks before the course, to inform you that you have 2 weeks to pay the balances. After the 2 weeks has expired, you may lose your place if payments have not been received. Non payment of invoices is at your own risk and we will not/ cannot be held responsible for missed payments.
