COURSE CONTENT: Did you know that drummer and percussionist extrordinaire, Pete Flood (Bellowhead, Oyster band) is also a Botanist?! And he has agreed to come to the Barn and lead a course with Rose-Ellen based on rhythm, song and nature! So we will be composing some special a'capella pieces specially to work on rhythm (for all levels) and doing some fun games and exercises to support the learning. And seeing as we are surrounded by nature here at Stones Barn, we will also be doing some walks to gaze at the hedgerows, rivers, fields, woodland and verges to learn to identify some flowers, trees, fungi, moss and whatever else we happen to happen upon.

WHO IS IT FOR: If you have always wanted to play or sing some interesting rhythmic pieces and finally finding out what flower that nice yellow one is, then this will be the perfect weekend for you. This course will cater for all levels of rhythmic and musical experience and ability. If you have never done anything rhythmic before then we will guide and support to make sure everyone is part of it. You can be any level of ability or confidence in music reading. We aim to be very inclusive and learn by ear as well as from written music (where necessary).

LEARNING OUTCOMES: We hope that this course will bring learning, laughs and a hands-on connection with nature for a sense of deep wellbeing (along with the usual excessive amounts of making friends and eating great food).
