Description: After their triumphant headline set at Cambridge Folk Festival, Nancy and James are heading back up to Stones Barn for lead what promises to be yet another super weekend course. We are very lucky to have these two fantastically accomplished musicians to lead you through another weekend of collaboration, cooperation, and practical performance work. In smaller groups you will work together to create a Sunday afternoon concert at the end of your weekend.

There will be a few songs which the who group learn to sing together but most will be songs which you as individuals bring. And as a ‘band’, your smaller group will then whittle down the song choices and work on the arrangements for your final show whilst learning performance skills implicitly and explicitly in the process. Working towards a performance is always a strong bonding experience and will feel like a real achievement. Nancy and James are expert at leading/guiding/mentoring groups and have run some extraordinary and hugely enjoyable courses here in the past.

Requirement: You could be a performing pro or someone who hasn't ever performed in front of people before. We can all learn something new from working with new people. Working with Nancy and James is an amazing opportunity to see excellent performance, arrangement and playing skills in action.

** If you are planning to come via public transport please note that Carlisle has the nearest functional train and bus stations. We can arrange for a driver to take you the final 20 miles from Carlisle if you let us know. This is charged at £30 each way. Email us info@stonesbarn.co.uk 

We would appreciate it if you would choose to stay residentially if you are coming via public transport as the nearest B&Bs are over 2 miles away. However, if there are no residential tickets left, don't worry, we will arrange transport.
