About the session:

This interactive webinar is designed for clinical educators and healthcare professionals, as well as those interested in medical humanities, arts and literary researchers and everyone who loves reading. We will outline our research into reading as a means to nurture and maintain empathy, including the Centre's use of book clubs for foundation year students: Medical students meet best-selling author, comedian and NHS psychiatrist, Dr Benji Waterhouse | News | University of Leicester.

Drawing on evidence-based approaches from the Stoneygate Centre for Empathic Healthcare, we will invite participants to reflect on their own reading and engage in close reading exercises as a tool for empathic reflection and wellbeing.
