Dan Young first made waves as the frontman of This Providence and now creates soulful, reflective music as Lonely Benson. Alongside the thoughtful songwriting of Kate Dinsmore and Will Solomon, the night will blend live music with the stories behind the songs.

Song & Story is more than a concert—it’s a relaxed, acoustic-style evening where artists share the inspiration, moments, and experiences that shaped their music. With guests and on the spot collaboration these concerts are one-of-a-kind and unforgettable.

Seattle-area songwriter best known as the former frontman of the indie rock band This Providence. These days he writes and records under the name Lonely Benson, crafting reflective, melody-driven songs that blend indie, folk, bossa-nova and soul influences. 

Dan has a gift for turning real-life moments into songs that feel both personal and universal. In a Song & Story setting, he brings that same honesty and humor—sharing not just the music, but the experiences, questions, and stories that shaped it. Expect thoughtful songwriting, a few laughs, and the kind of songs that stick with you long after the night ends. Plus you'll love his Australian accent!

About Kate Dinsmore
Seattle-based singer-songwriter with a voice that can stop a room. Blending soul, jazz, and indie influences, her songs are honest, powerful, and full of heart. Kate first gained attention performing with the jazz-pop band Harumph before returning to the Pacific Northwest and becoming a standout in the Seattle music scene. Whether playing with a full band or in an intimate acoustic setting, she brings warmth, humor, and deeply personal storytelling to every performance—making her a perfect fit for a night of Song & Story.
