Get ready for round two of the Straight Up book club! Following the huge success of our first event, we are so excited to be back at our fave hotel, The Hoxton, in their absolutely gorgeous private apartment in Holborn this April. 

As with last time there’ll be coffee, cocktails and lots of time to chat about another one of the most hotly anticipated novels of the year, Hooked, from the author of global sensation Butter. Like the rest of the world, we absolutely LOVED Asako Yuzuki’s Butter and so we have super high hopes for Hooked, which has already been brilliantly reviewed. Exploring friendship, dangerous obsession, food, loneliness and womanhood in contemporary Japan, it follows Eriko, who puts her seemingly perfect life at risk when she becomes fascinated with a popular blog written by a housewife, Shōko.

This live event won't be recorded so the only way to get involved is to be there IRL! 

Unlimited tea/coffee and pastries are included in the ticket price and, like last time, there’ll be an opportunity to shape the next ep of the podcast and suggest topics for lots of juicy pop culture chat on the day.
