Get ready for another round of Straight Up book club! In partnership with Penguin Books and their wonderful imprint Doubleday, our book pick is the devastating but heartwarming, hilarious novel Where Are the Kings by Orwell Prize-winning Irish author Donal Ryan: the most exquisitely written book about masculinity, family and grief. Anyone who loved Douglas Stuart's Shuggie Bain is going to absolutely adore this beautiful novel.

The evening will kick off with a special chat with Donal himself all about the novel and how he left the civil service to become a best-selling writer. The second half of the event will have us and the huns chatting about the book in more detail, before finishing up with our usual big pop culture debrief where we get stuck into audience topic suggestions and questions! 

Tickets are £10, which can be redeemed for a glass of wine, beer or soft drink at the bar when you arrive.

Doubleday are also giving the huns incredible goodie bags of their best upcoming books, so you’ll be the first to read the buzziest novels of the year!
