Coronado Foothills Estates is a special neighborhood, located in the transition from the city to the wild desert of the Catalina Mountain foothills and the Coronado National Forest. Living in this wildland-urban interface, as the fire ecologists call it, comes with some responsibility, as our landscaping decisions matter to the wildlife that are moving through the area. The Coronado Foothills Estates HOA and Strategic Habitat Enhancements have teamed up to bring you a fall-winter series of events, allowing us to dive into some of the challenges and opportunities of living in such an ecologically important neighborhood. Each session builds on the last, and the format will consist of:
- A Saturday afternoon online class from 3:00 - 4:30 pm that will include a presentation and time for questions and answers. A recording will be available in case of any schedule conflicts.
- A Sunday morning in-person event from 9:30 - 11:00 at a neighbor's garden/landscape, where we will see the concepts from the prior evening on-the-ground. This will be an informal event with more questions & answers, and a yard tour. We will be wearing masks and maintaining a safe social distance. Bring a folding or camp chair!
- Supporting materials and native plant seeds.
