Stratford Winter Film Festival
Description
A new cultural star is on the horizon for "Stratty." The inaugural Stratford Winter Film Festival (SWFF)! The motivation behind this initiative is simple: to hold a bright and positive annual event during the darkest and quietest days of winter, something to help lift spirits and banish the winter blues.
This year's triple theme of food, music and history is designed to appeal to a wide range of interests. Film showings will take place at five locations. We have many exciting things planned, including collaborations with some of Stratford's leading establishments.
The many Stratfordians who have been part of this project's development have fully embraced the initiative. SWFF will be a draw for out-of-towners as well as locals, thereby bolstering the city's economic activity.
We at SWFF are attempting to deliver an organic, authentic experience for our patrons. There is nothing “mass media” about this Festival. With the exception of one location, none of our screening venues are dedicated theatres. Instead, they are beautiful restaurants, Victorian factories, hundred-year old car dealerships, or very comfortable (no-pew) churches. And one special spot is the smallest, most perfect theatre in the world - according to that grandparent favourite, the Guinness World Records Book. At all these places there will be drinks and, well, amuse-bouche available for you - whenever you please.
The focus at SWFF is to experience interesting venues, and partake in the special way-of-life that epitomises the Stratford way. We have superb dining and wonderful places to stay over - we encourage all patrons to “forget Toronto”, as it were, and immerse themselves in the happy warm comfort that is Stratford in the Winter.
