Introduction to Palliative and End of Life Care Workshop 5/6/25

This course is an ideal introduction for all care staff working in health and social care.

Course Lead: Lucy Gallagher, Learning Facilitator

This workshop aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills when caring for people at the end of their lives.  By the end of the workshop participants will:

• Understand what palliative and end of life care means
• Recognise the importance of Advance Care Planning & ReSPECT
• Nutrition and hydration at end of life
• Be aware of how to manage common symptoms, including pain and agitation
• Understand care after death and bereavement
• Be aware of the importance of self-care
