Description
Stroud Brewery Film Club Proudly Presents : The Harder They come.
Wishing to become a successful reggae singer, a young Jamaican man finds himself tied to corrupt record producers and drug pushers.
The Harder They Come is a 1972 Jamaican crime film directed by Perry Henzell and co-written by Trevor D. Rhone, and starring Jimmy Cliff.[4][5] The film is most famous for its reggae soundtrack that is said to have "brought reggae to the world".[6]
Enormously successful in Jamaica, the film also reached the international market and has been described as "possibly the most influential of Jamaican films and one of the most important films from the Caribbean"
Our kitchen takeover this week is Gloucestershire's longest running Caribbean caterers, Marinades. Book a table for before the film and enjoy a true taste of Jamaica whilst enjoying the movie, and perhaps one of the best sound tracks ever.
