We are excited to welcome legendary guitarist Bobby Broom back to Studio5, this time in a stellar quartet setting, celebrating Bobby's brand new release, Keyed Up. As the name implies, Keyed Up explores music by great jazz pianists, and features Justin Dillard on keys, along with Bobby's regular collaborators Dennis Carroll on bass and Kobie Watkins on drums. This is bound to be an exciting night, and dare I say it, you might want to get your tickets early. Bobby Broom is quite a jazz phenomenon. As a boy of just 16 in NYC Bobby was gigging with Al Haig; by 21 he was touring with Sonny Rollins. (By contrast, when I was 21 I was doing my best to grow a beard.) Bobby is constantly in deep musical company, and he regularly challenges himself with fresh ideas and new formats. It will be thrilling to hear what sparks fly when Bobby adds Justin Dillard's piano to the mix. Won't this be fun?! –SR
