Midsummer Air: Ikebana & Form
A midsummer ikebana experience exploring fullness, movement, and sculptural form through seasonal materials and layered composition. Guests are invited to create expressive arrangements shaped by texture, summer light, and the atmosphere of high season.
Hosted by Studio Seren, the experience takes place within the soft, pastel-toned setting of Café Petiole. The session explores moribana (盛り花), a style of ikebana known for its open compositions and refined placement. Working with seasonal materials, each arrangement is shaped by light, proportion, and the quiet character of spring.
The Experience
This 90-minute guided experience unfolds at an unhurried pace, inviting a deeper engagement with each element. Guests are gently introduced to the principles of ikebana, learning how to observe and compose with intention. The atmosphere remains calm and focused, allowing space for quiet creativity to emerge.
With a small group and an intimate setting, the gathering encourages a thoughtful approach to making. As your arrangement develops, refreshments from Café Petiole may be enjoyed alongside the experience.
