Pieces in Progress

sub.set dance presents Pieces in Progress, a celebration of working things out, bringing three in-development pieces to the stage. 

Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies’ This it is is a solo for the end of an era—a requiem for paths not taken, messages left unread, and options never exercised.

Dani Peterson is investigating embodied collage in souvenirs. A celebration of what we take with us, this piece distills a year's worth of beautiful things into one moving body.

In Wanting NEEDING Alanna Hoyman-Browe explores the shifting and contextual relationship between wants and needs. In the piece, dancers and singers come together to investigate yearning, luxury, and deep desire. 

The program will also include a special performance by the choral quartet the Grin Weepers, composed of Jeff Jaeger, Mary McCarty, Sara Szymanski, and Wil Horsley. Sub.set dance is a collective of movers, founded in 2014 by Alanna Hoyman-Browe, Claire Thomforder-Gardner, Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies, and Simone Wood.

Ticket sales beyond production cost will be distributed evenly between the artists.
