FAQs

Where exactly in Jersey Farm is SUNDANCE Sunrise Silent Disco?

Jersey Farm Woodland Park, Sandridge, St Albans, AL4 9ST. Enter at the Chiltern Road entrance (off Sandringham Crescent), walk straight into the open field in front of you, and you will see us ahead of you, to your left, at the top of the hill where there are two benches. Look out for the red and orange festival flag and small gazebo.

What happens if it rains?

We dance whatever the weather (but pray for sunshine!). If it's heavy rain we'll use an area where the trees offer more shelter. But still turn left as you come into the main field from the Chiltern Road entrance (AL4 9ST).

What should I wear?

Wear clothes that work for the weather.

If we’ve had a lot of rain, the grass will be wet and the ground may be muddy. So wellie boots and waterproof layers would be wise for a rainy day - festival poncho/dry robe/raincoat all good ideas! Or if the weather is good - beachwear, festival gear, yoga pants, trackie bums, hippie vibes, running fit  - or just come as you are. If it’s comfortable for you to dance in, on the grass, you’re good to go!

Is there parking?

You can park on Sandringham Crescent, adjacent to the Park.  As this is an early morning event, please be mindful of nearby residents who may still be snoozing, both when you arrive and when you leave.

Can I bring my dog?

Although we love our doggies, this isn’t the right place for a pooch. Their meditation skills are limited in our experience.

Do I need a ticket?

Yes. This is a ticketed event. Your ticket will be emailed to you from Ticket Tailor once you’ve grabbed your spot. Please bring your ticket with you, either as a print out, or on your phone, so we can scan your QR code on arrival. You will need to bring your ticket to participate in the event (so we can satisfy our insurance requirements).

Can I get a refund if I can’t make it?

We hire enough headsets and buy cacao for everyone ahead of the event so unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t make it and want to give a ticket to a friend, that’s fine with us.

Just email carolynhowgego@gmail.com to let us know the name of the person using your ticket, and send them your ticket confirmation. We will scan them in using your QR code.

Is there any age limit?

Anyone and everyone is welcome at this SUNDANCE event - whatever your age, phase, or stage of life. But Under 18s need to come along with an adult please. Be mindful that there will be a short meditation and a cacao mood-boost to close, so any Under 18s should be comfortable participating respectfully in the whole event.

Is there a loo?

There are no toilet facilities in the Park. The nearest Toilets post-dance are next to the Community Centre in Sandridge Village or at The Quadrant, Marshalswick.

What kind of meditation will it be?

A short, grounding, boosting meditation that will connect you to yourself, the natural space around and to each other, as we get ready to dance. No meditation experience required.

What is a silent disco and how long will it be?

The silent disco will be from 6.45-7.40

A silent disco is a dance experience using wireless headsets instead of speakers. At this SUNDANCE, everyone will listen to the same uplifting soundtrack, through your own individual wireless headset provided by us, creating a joyful, immersive, communal experience where you can move, connect and lose yourself in the music beneath the trees (without disturbing the woodland!).

What kind of music will it be?

Carolyn & Danielle have lovingly curated an selection of uplifting tunes, to awaken your day, celebrate the summer and bring all the sunshine vibes whatever the weather. An eclectic mix of soulful, vibey beats. Nothing too hectic, just exactly what you need to get you moving, smiling and dancing.

What is a cacao mood-boost, and how long will it be?

The cacao mood-boost will be from 7.45-8am.

After dancing, we’ll gather for a warming cacao mood-boost - a small cup of ethically sourced, traditional, ceremonial grade, virgin cacao (hot chocolate with a kick) shared together as a feel-good moment to connect, close our SUNDANCE event and power into your day. Think grounding, uplifting and the perfect way to close our shared sunrise experience and kick start your day.

Our cacao is absolutely delicious but those with a sweet tooth might want to add a touch of local honey, which we provide. Just a quarter teaspoon of honey is probably enough.

ALLERGY NOTICE: The cacao served at the end of the event is made with coconut milk. Anyone with a coconut allergy or sensitivity should avoid drinking it.

Is there somewhere for me to leave my bag?

There is nowhere to leave valuables and SUNDANCE doesn't accept any responsibility for your precious things. So please leave them at home. A cross body bag/rucsac is ideal for your water bottle, phone and ticket.

Will the event be photographed?

We will have a photographer capturing the vibe. By attending an event, you consent to being photographed or filmed as part of the SUNDANCE community, and you consent to resulting materials being used for commercial distribution, publication, and in SUNDANCE communications, without payment or copyright. But if you prefer not to be photographed, let Danielle or Carolyn know when you arrive and we’ll do our best to respect your privacy.
