Pittsburgh Clothing Swap

It's time for a new fall/winter wardrobe! 

We all have clothes that no longer serve us -- the sweater that's not your style anymore, the jeans that don't fit, the dress that never gets picked.  Why not give those pieces new life?! Bring your gently-used, good condition clothing, shoes, and accessories to swap for fun new-to-you pieces!

Your ticket includes entry into the swap and refreshments. Tickets are nonrefundable.

How does the swap work?

Everyone brings their best items to swap.  We provide tables, rolling racks, and hangers.  When you arrive, you will "floor" your items according to size.  Throughout this time, you are encouraged to "window shop" and find the pieces that you love.  Once all the items are organized, everyone will draw a number to determine shopping order.  In round 1, each person will have 30 seconds to grab their favorite piece (only one!).  In round 2, each person will have 30 seconds to choose another piece.  In round 3, shopping will happen in groups of 5, and each group will have 2 minutes to choose up to 3 additional pieces.  After that, it will be a free-for-all with whatever is left!  Anything that is not chosen will be donated to Living in Liberty.

How many items should I bring?

The more items, the better the swap - as long as they are quality pieces! You must bring a minimum of 10 items to participate, but you can bring up to 30.

What type of items can I bring? 

Anything that you would wear in the colder months - sweaters, jeans, leggings, sweatshirts, coats, dresses, skirts, boots, etc.  You can also bring accessories, including but not limited to, scarves, gloves, hats, jewelry, purses, etc.  A small number of home / home decor items will also be accepted (no more than 3 / person). 

Do I need to bring my own hangers? 

You don't need to - we will provide hangers; however, you may find it easier (& quicker) for flooring purposes to have your items already hanging.
