Blackshaw Moor Walk – Visiting remnants of the Polish Resettlement Camp from WWII: Part of SMWalkingFest
3rd May is the anniversary of Poland’s constitution, a special celebration for the community who grew up at the Polish Resettlement Camp at Blackshaw Moor after WWII.
Join members of the community as they take you on this unique tour of the remnants of the site and talk about their memories of growing up in Nissen huts amongst this close knit Polish community.
Parking is limited - so please car share where you can.
Please dress for uneven, muddy terrain and all weathers. We will be a couple of hours where there are no toilets. If hot, please ensure you have sun cream and plenty to drink. Mixed terrain - some rough areas under foot - walking shoes recommended.
This walk is a free, ticketed event.
Part of Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival.
