In this session we explore a cluster of three runes: the rune of Hail and the Hag, the Rune of Necessity (and the Norns) and the Ice Rune: rune of clarity and transparency (but also the rune where we meet our Ego!)
General course description
This on-line foundation course, taught by Imelda Almqvist and hosted by Christian Thurow, takes you through all four runes of the Elder Futhark over the space of one academic year.
Please note that this course will include new material from Imelda’s (not yet published) book about the runes!
You will receive guidance on making your own personalised set of runes.
Imelda will introduce you to the Nordic names of the runes and the ways of working employed by Scandinavian Rune Magicians (but always provide their more common, Anglo-Saxon name as well!)
Homework tasks will be set, allowing you to fully get to know every single rune and to form a lasting relationship with the in-dwelling spirit of that rune!
You will also learn what divination is and how to do rune readings for yourself and other people.
Each session will be recorded and the recording will be available for 30 days to all ticketholders.
Session 5 will take place on Thursday, March 11th and Session 6 will take place on Thursday, April 8th
About Imelda
Imelda Almqvist is an international teacher of shamanism and sacred art. So far she has published two books:Natural Born Shamans: A Spiritual Toolkit for Life (Using shamanism creatively with young people of all ages) in 2016 and Sacred Art: A Hollow Bone for Spirit (Where Art Meets Shamanism) in 2019. She has presented her work on both The Shift Network and Sounds True. She appears in a TV program titled Ice Age Shaman, made for the Smithsonian Museum, in the series Mystic Britain talking about Neolithic arctic deer shamanism. Her third book: Medicine of the Imagination - Dwelling in possibility (an impassioned plea for fearless imagination) will be published by Moon Books on 30 October 2020. She is currently working on her fourth book, about the pre-Christian spirituality of The Netherlands.
