East and West Surrey, our new unitary authorities, come into being on 1 April, with strategies that set out ambitions for streets and places that are accessible, connected, and attractive to pedestrians and cyclists. This comes at a time when Surrey's communities are flagging the need for better-maintained footways, safer cycling routes, buses that turn up on time, and easier journeys from isolated villages.

So how do the new National Transport Strategy and Surrey's own Local Transport Plan (LTP4) fit into this picture, and what does it all mean for the future of transport in our county?

Join the Surrey Climate Commission and Healthy Travel Surrey on 10 September as we explore these questions with guest speaker Steve Howard, Surrey's Transport Strategy Lead. Councillors and community group leaders are warmly encouraged to attend, bring questions, and to share their ambitions for active and sustainable transport in their areas.
