Ruby's with Pat Reyford & His Symphony 5
Sat 9 Nov 2024 7:30 PM - 11:15 PM GMT
Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE
Description
This must be one of the most popular dances on the Surrey Jive calendar and the atmosphere is always fantastic. Some of last years comments included "It was one of the best if not the best Ruby's ever to date. Amazing participation and phenominal atmosphere." "Such an amazing night last night! It was bloody fantastic." We go to great lengths to decorate the hall as a period dance hall and our props just keep growing. So why not get in the spirit and come dressed in 1940's allied uniform or civilian dress? Whilst period dress is preferred, it is not essential because your company is more important to us. We will be observing a minute's silence during the evening.
What better way to commemorate such an important weekend than to have one of the finest musicians and singers you will see on stage. Pat Reyford and His Symphony 5 really can do it all. A legend of British Rock n' Roll in the 1980's Pat has played in the Four Blazes, Western Swing All Stars, The Big Six and as front man Sugar Ray Ford in the Hot Shots. Tours of the USA followed. Pat now leads a Hot 6-piece dance band The Symphony 5 and they feature: guitar, sax, trumpet, piano, double bass, and drums. These guys are hot and have already packed out dance halls all over Europe. You won't want to miss them!
In between sets Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive's resident DJ) will be playing some fantastic Swing and RnB music to compliment the theme. There will be no Rock n' Roll this month but this will resume as normal next month.
Our dances are well attended, and you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to greet you. Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall has a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and large free car park. The hall is situated close to the M25.
Thank you very much for looking and we hope to see you on the dance floor!
