@surreysews invites you to SewFizzTeaCated 2026 - A fun sewing themed afternoon tea, with a glass of Fizz and a full afternoon tea.

It's on Saturday 17th October 2026, in Woking from 1:30pm to 5:00pm. We have a new venue this year: Christ Church, Jubilee Square, Woking GU21 6YG.

Enjoy a raffle, catwalk, and goodie bags.

Over the previous 2 years of this event we have raised money for the Lighthouse Sewing Project, which several of us at Surrey Sews run. Fortunately, we have done so well with the support of this event and our sponsors over the last 2 years that we are well equipped and funded for the foreseeable future. Thank you for playing your part in this success.

We have chosen the Fountain Centre to support because one of our founding members (Mel) was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer earlier this year and has been receiving help and support from the Fountain Centre, and has seen how beneficial it is to patients in the local area.

Afternoon Tea FAQs

Is food and drink included in the price?

Yes, the price includes a glass of Fizz and afternoon tea (sandwiches, savouries, cake, tea, coffee).

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes we can, please advise of any specific dietary requirements by emailing surreysews@gmail.com. We are able to cater for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian. All food will be nut free. 

Where will the afternoon tea be?

The event will be held at Christ Church, Jubilee Square, Woking GU21 6YG. This is a different location from previous events, but very close by.

How do I get there?

Christ Church is a 5 minute walk from Woking train station. If you’re driving, there is no parking on site but there are many multi-storey car parks in Woking, several are within a few minutes walk.

P.S. The entrance we will be using is to the left of the main entrance - it will be signposted. 

Is the venue accessible?

Yes

Will we be sewing at the event?

No, this isn’t a sewing event or workshop, but instead a chance to meet and chat with fellow sewists.

I can no longer make it, can I get a refund?

Please contact us if you can no longer attend. If tickets sell out, we will have a waiting list and we can organise your ticket to be sold to the next on the list. We cannot guarantee a refund, but if we can resell your ticket you will receive a £40 refund (£5 will be retained to cover processing fees). Please don't sell your ticket without letting us know, as we will need to update the door list. 

Do I have to make a special outfit?

Only if you want to! Come wearing your own me made garment or accessory, it doesn’t have to be new.

Do I have to take part in the catwalk?

No! The catwalk is an informal, optional opportunity to show off your make…but only if you want to !

I’m not an experienced sewist, can I still attend?

Yes! We welcome all skill levels and abilities. This is a chance to meet like-minded people, share tips and ideas and make new friends. 

Do I need to buy raffle tickets ?

No, you will be given a raffle ticket when you check in, on arrival.
