Join award winning artist Naomi Edmondson aka Survival Techniques at Sea Lanes Studio in Brighton to make a mini typographic poster to bring a little light to each day.
This is a creative workshop exploring how small reminders can help lift us on tougher days.
Participants will begin by learning about the Survival Techniques project and reflecting on simple actions, phrases, or reminders that help them feel grounded, hopeful or encouraged. From this, each person will choose a message that resonates and transform it into their own colourful typographic artwork.
Using markers filled with vibrant acrylic ink, along with letter stencils and guided support, you’ll create a bold and inspiring mini mural style poster on canvas board to take home. Naomi will be on hand throughout to offer guidance on crafting your phrase, lettering techniques and colour choices.
The materials are easy to use and suitable for all abilities, producing bright, painterly results so there’s no need to consider yourself “artistic” to take part.
Display your artwork at home, on your work desk, in the downstairs loo or just anywhere that will regularly catch your eye and give you a kindly reminder of what matters to you.
Suitable for all abilities. All welcome.
