Christmas Cards & Gift Tags Lino Printing Workshop

A lovely relaxed evening of festive linocut printmaking

Come and join me for a gorgeous creative evening. You'll learn how to hand print your own unique Christmas cards and gift tags, and leave with a set of really special handmade cards and gift tags.

Join York based artist and creative director Susan Bradley to create your own unique linocut printed cards and gift tags, in this lovely relaxed festive workshop.

Susan works as a professional artist in York using linocut, letterpress and monoprinting techniques. She is an award-winning designer and has worked in creative fields (graphic, product, furniture and interior design) for over 20 years.

All materials are provided for you and included in the price of the workshop. Just bring along any ideas you may have (but don't worry I will have lots of inspiration and templates for for you too!)

Open to everyone and anyone, no previous experience required. Complete beginners or those who have tried lino printing before and want to spend more time honing their skills (Suitable for over 14's only)

Everyone will be provided with:

• 1 x soft cut type lino piece to create your card design (10cm x 10cm), and 1 x soft cut lino piece m(4cm x 3cm) for your tags design
• 10 white card blanks & envelopes, and 10 white gift tags blanks.
• Lots of design ideas you may use in your designs if you get stuck for ideas, or just prefer to follow a template.
• Tissue paper provided to wrap your cards & tags to take them home safely.

You'll also have the use of lino cutting hand tools, water-based inks pads, pencils, sketching and tracing paper etc. And lots of inspiration to use to create your designs.

The BlueBird Bakery cafe will be open for the evening, and you'll be able to buy delicious cakes, mince piece and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy as you create.

What to bring along:

No prior experience is required, all equipment is provided.

The only things to bring along are any inspiration or design ideas for your cards and tags. But don't worry templates will be provided for you if you prefer.

About the artist:

Susan Bradley is a designer and artist based and from Yorkshire. Her award winning metal designs range from large scale exterior wall installations to small interior products. Her clients include museum and art galleries around the world, along with companies such as Donna Karen New York, Urban Outfitters, Christian Louboutin and Harvey Nichols (for who she designed the backdrop to their infamous Christmas windows 15 years ago)

Her designs have been sold in museums including the V&A, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Baltic, National Portrait Gallery and London Transport Museum.

Terms & Conditions - The small print

• Workshops must be booked in advance due to limited places
• Refund Policy: 60 days prior to start date. If a cancellation is made 60 days prior to the start of the event, then your payment can be refunded (minus payment processing fees) or you can transfer to another workshop.
• If cancellations are made after this time I CANNOT provide a refund or transfer to another later event, unless I have people on a waiting list who will take your place. You are welcome to find someone to fill your place and for them to come instead if you (and this is totally totally fine to do). I will also try my best to fill your place for you, but this can be tricky if it's last minutes in particular. Should I be able to fill your place then you can either transfer your payment to a future event, or receive a refund (minus payment processing fees).
• Unfortunately we are unable to offer a refund due to covid or any other illness - unless I can fill your place.
• We reserve the right to cancel a course or workshop if we have insufficient numbers. Should this happens we will offer you a place on another course or workshop, or refund your money - whichever you prefer. This is highly unlikely, but we just have to mention it.
