Sussex Energy Group Keynote Lecture 2024
THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED
Emma Pinchbeck has recently left Energy UK to take up the important position of Chief Executive of the Climate Change Committee.
As a result, Emma’s calendar for the year has changed, as she has new commitments that come with her new role. Unfortunately, this means she is no longer in a position to give the 2024 Sussex Energy Group Keynote Address.
In the meantime, however, Energy UK have appointed Dhara Vyas as their new CEO. Dhara has kindly agreed to give the Sussex Energy Group Keynote lecture in Emma’s place.
We are thrilled to have found so capable a replacement for this event, and are very much looking forward to hearing what Dhara has to say. Dhara joined Energy UK as Director of Advocacy in November 2021 from Citizens Advice, where she was responsible for the consumer watchdog’s work on Net Zero, decarbonisation and the future energy market. Prior to this, Dhara led on several retail issues, including customer service, vulnerability and smart energy.
Dhara has also worked in local government and across a broad range of policy areas from civil society and community building to local democracy and scrutiny. She has also been a member of several government and academic advisory boards and is a trustee of independent environmental think tank, Green Alliance.
But unfortunately, Dhara is not available on the date the event was scheduled for. This means we will need to reschedule the Keynote Lecture — likely for some time in early 2025.
We are currently in negotiations with the Energy UK team about securing a new date as soon as possible. As Dhara is only a week into her new role, however, her calendar is in some flux, and this will take some time. We hope to have this nailed down by the end of November.
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience, and we’ll provide further updates as soon as we are able to.
