Finding Peace in a Frantic World

This is an eight-week, largely self-directed mindfulness course using Mark Williams and Danny Penman's best-selling book Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World. Your experienced tutor Robert Marx will lead you through 3 x online sessions at the beginning, middle and at the end of the course to help orient you through the content. The other 5 weeks will be self-directed learning using all the exercises in the book and you will need to set aside half an hour or so daily in the period from 23 April  to 18 June to do this.

This course is a highly accessible, engaging and practical introduction to mindfulness - suitable for beginners who want to learn flexibly.

The online session dates for Peace in a Frantic World are:

  1. Thursday, 23 April 2026, from 1.00pm to 2.00pm
  2. Thursday, 21 May 2025, from 1.00pm to 2.00pm
  3. Thursday, 18 June 2025, from 1.00pm to 2.00pm

Session 1: What is Mindfulness? How to use the book as a guide.

Session 2: What are you learning from the guiding yourself through the book? Are there any challenges and how can these be addressed?

Session 3: What has been most helpful about this course? What do you most want to remember? What learning will you take away?
