One-to-one Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World
Supported by four online one-to-one sessions with a mindfulness teacher
You can book this course at any time. Facilitator: Ruth Sequeira
This eight-week course follows the programme outlined in the bestselling book of the same name. Largely self-directed, the course includes four one-to-one, online live sessions with an experienced mindfulness teacher.
Overview
This eight-week, self-directed, mindfulness course uses as the basis, Mark Williams and Danny Penman’s best-selling book Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World. You will be supported by experienced teacher Ruth Sequeira in four online 30-minute sessions which will take place at a time to suit you, every two weeks throughout the eight-week programme. In between sessions, you will follow the exercises in the book on your own. There are suggested practices and exercises to be done daily throughout the course, so it would be helpful to allow around half-an-hour a day for these.
Who is the course for?
This programme offers a highly accessible, engaging and practical introduction to mindfulness. It is suitable for beginners who want to learn flexibly.
More about one-to-one mindfulness sessions
One-to-one mindfulness provides a personalised approach to learning mindfulness and offers an opportunity to explore practices in a way that is tailored to your individual circumstances, needs and aspirations. With your teacher you will explore what is most relevant and helpful for you, creating a supportive and confidential space for learning and reflection
While many people benefit from learning mindfulness through books, recordings and apps, live sessions with a teacher offer the opportunity for personalised guidance, reflection and support. A mindfulness teacher can help tailor practices to your circumstances, explore challenges that arise, and support you in the development of a sustainable and meaningful practice over time.
Course format
All individual sessions will include brief guided mindfulness practices.
Session 1: In the first session we will explore what is mindfulness? You will be guided in how to use the book throughout the eight-week course. After this session, you'll be ready to begin the programme.
Sessions 2 and 3: The content of sessions 2 and 3 will be orientated around your personal learning, how this is integrating into your life and offering support around any challenges along the way.
Session 4: In the last session, we explore what you want to take forward, and what want to remember? We'll explore ways to support your ongoing practice
