Cork Charity Shop Crawl

Sat 17 Aug 2019 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM IST

MABS North Main Street, WG2C+58

Description

After countless sell-out events in Dublin, The SFD duo Geraldine and Taz are taking to the road to hit up the rebel county itself - CORK boiii – and this time they're hosting a CORK CHARITY SHOP CRAWL!

If you love nothing more than perusing around quirky thrift shops, picking up one-of-a-kind pieces and documenting it all as you go, then this is one event you're sure to love.

Taz and Geraldine invite you on a charity & vintage shop crawl around Cork city's abundant offering of thrifty delights that promises to va-va-voom up your wardrobe (and your Instagram feed!) in the most sustainable, cost-effective and generally feel-good way possible.

  • Route: from North Gate Bridge to Oliver Plunkett Street
  • Meeting point: Outside MABS on N Main Street
  • Time: 2-4pm(ish)

These two girls know the best that the thrift shop scene has to offer and they'll be bringing attendees to the rebel city's hidden gems; revealing the tricks of the thrifting trade and providing a bespoke map of all the charity shops in the area,

Starting off on North Main Street and finishing up on Oliver Plunkett Street, this is your chance to veer away from the high street and get a glimpse of the incredible fashion bargains that there are to be found throughout this city, all whilst supporting some really worthwhile charities as you go!

A carbon-neutral journey

event_description_image_59119_1564404523_741db.jpg

The SFD Cork roadtrip will be 100% carbon neutral as Geraldine and Taz will be offsetting the carbon emissions generated from their journey from Dublin-Cork via the Vita.ie carbon calculator. Vita is a brilliant Irish NGO that is fighting poverty and climate change by supporting

community-led programmes in Africa. These include climate-smart agriculture projects, female-led workshops for safer and more fuel-efficient cook stoves, improved and sustainable irrigation systems, and solar energy initiatives.

If you want to offset your own carbon emissions (generated from your car journeys/ summer holiday flights/ daily living) you can do so here.
