Fun-filled family bike ride to Heaton Mersey Common!
Organised by Sustainable Living in the Heatons, this is the bike ride to come on with or without the kids! We have all been watching the new cycling and walking paths on the common have taken shape and we are hoping the paths will be finished soon. This will be the chance for us to explore them safely and to check out how they help us all to enjoy the common. Even new bike-riders will have fun on this ride which we will lead around the common, and there will always be the opportunity for families to peel off for a rest at any time.
We’ll stop for a drink and a snack in the big central grassed area, and there will even be a game of rounders for anyone who is interested and want to burn off some extra energy! There will be an Active Travel Stand with lots of information about local walking and cycling routes, and a FREE Dr Bike Bicycle maintenance workshop to help you sort out bike problems.
This bike ride is the shortest of the season, at just 3 miles maximum. Everyone is welcome, under 16's must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Booking is essential, and should be done before 11am on Sunday 29th June.
