What the night is about:

Kelp forests are vast, foundational marine ecosystems that support biodiversity, fisheries, and carbon sequestration while protecting coastlines.

Over the last decade, Northern California has lost over 96% of its kelp cover.

These underwater forests are alarmingly declining due to climate change and heat waves, which not only devastates marine life and food webs, but also endangers human communities reliant on kelp forests for sustenance, income, and natural coastal protection.
