Virtual workshop across two mornings: Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th June 2025 09:00 - 13:00
Join us for two morning sessions to complete our accredited Carbon Literacy training course, designed for those working in the wedding industry. This is the perfect course for people that want to make a positive change and take action on climate change through their role.
This course is aimed specifically at those in the wedding industry, and will give you the knowledge and the tools you need to be confident when talking about climate change. The course will take you from the basics of climate science, and what is happening with the climate emergency; through to how this will impact everyone, enabling you to pledge relevant carbon reducing actions in your life, work & industry.
On successful completion of your Carbon Literacy training, after submitting your actions, you can become certified as ‘Carbon Literate’, joining more than 122,000+ others, and including business leaders across multiple sectors. By taking part in this course, you will join individuals and team members across other businesses including the NHS, Patagonia and the BBC to become ‘Carbon Literate’, helping to embed a widespread low-carbon culture.
After completing the course, you’ll be required to complete a Participant Evidence form which will then be sent to the Carbon Literacy Project for approval. Once the form has been approved you will receive your certificate. You need to attend both half day sessions to gain certification.
What others have said…
“I completed the Carbon Literacy Training with Michelle as an online course over two half days. It presented the facts in an easy to understand format, with Michelle talking through everything and fielding questions from us as we went along. It is a heavy topic to grasp, and can be challenging especially when tackling Climate Justice and Reparations, and can trigger a range of emotions. It felt like a safe space to talk openly, no judgement, and left me feeling empowered to talk to my clients, friends and family about Climate Change in an effective and engaging way." Gemma Sangwine,
The Carbon Literacy course by the Sustainable Wedding Alliance was a real eye opener. Sustainability is such a broad subject and doing this course made me realise that I hadn’t even scratched the sustainability surface! I’d recommend anyone and everyone should do this course but especially if you’re a small business on your sustainability journey! Mercedes from 4YaParty Weddings and Events
“This course (despite the heavy and occasionally overwhelming subject matter) was delivered in a light and enjoyable fashion and importantly there was no stern moralising / 'holier than thou' preaching, just good hard facts and multiple ways in which one can make changes now to join in and contribute to the fight against climate change. I highly recommend both this course and the Sustainable Wedding Alliance.” Henry Weldon, Maverick Venues
