Fused Glass Double Workshop -Snowmen & Snowflakes and Festive Decorations at Wightwick Manor NT

10:30am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm
Taking place at Wightwick Manor in their craft/conference room. Ask for directions as you arrive.
Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques. You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.  Your workshop ticket also entitles you to full entry to the Manor and Gardens, Café, Gallery and shop!

The schedule for the day is as follows:

Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm: Snowmen & Snowflakes Workshop – Get ahead with your festive crafting!

Each participant will be able to construct and create a large hanging glass snowflake decoration and a snowman decoration from scratch using a colour scheme and design of their choice. You will be introduced to different techniques and will also have the opportunity to try out basic cutting skills, working with a selection of materials and tools and will be able to choose from a selection of coloured glass, frits and powders, paints and accessories to create the designs.

Lunch (not provided) 12:30-1:30pm. Wightwick has a tearoom on site and many areas for enjoying your lunch in the fresh air if the weather suits.

Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm: Festive Glass Decorations - In this two‑hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of glass fusing and layering with coloured glass. Suzie will introduce you to a range of materials and tools, guiding you as you design in your own colour scheme. Each participant will create five beautiful fused‑glass Christmas decorations ready for kiln firing.


Participants who are regular attendees of Suzie’s workshops are welcome to make different projects to save repetition if they contact Suzie in advance.

All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14days later.
Places are limited and expected to book up very quickly. Suitable for adults and for teens age 13 and over, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Please note that access can be limited/difficult for persons of disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is sadly not wheelchair accessible.
