Tourist in Your Town

Events list

This summer event, organised by Swaffham Cultural Consortium, will give residents an insight into the town’s history, from the many markers, gravestones, plaques and buildings that will reveal the heritage and stories of bygone days.

The Museum of Swaffham will be facilitating the free guided walks of the town during July, August and September 2026.

Our trained guides will escort small groups of locals on a planned walk around the town approximately 90 minutes; the walks all start and finish at the Buttercross.

Walks will be limited to a maximum of ten people plus guide, on varying times and days during the week, to ensure that anyone wanting to join in should be able to find a convenient one. Routes will be accessible to all, and the walks on the last Friday each month are timed to allow those joining them to stay in the town centre to enjoy a Twilight Market on completion.

The dates and details for all the walks for July, August and September 2026 are now listed in full, and may be booked at any time.   After joining a walk, please feel free to send any feedback via the link on the Swaffham Museum webpage. or scan the QR code below.

Thank you.
