Friday Night Wine School - The Rosé Spectrum, How Production Methods Shape Rosé Wine

Fri Jul 31, 2026 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM CDT Swirl, 70119

Wine School: Drink Better, Know More - We connect the dots between grape, place, and process in a way that’s clear and useful so you can trust your palate, choose with confidence, and get more out of every bottle.

All rosé may be pink, but there’s no single way to make it.

In this edition of Friday Night Wine School, we'll explore the different production methods behind the world's rosé wines and discover how a winemaker's choices shape everything from color and aroma to texture and flavor. Why are some rosés barely blush while others are deep salmon or nearly ruby? Why do some taste crisp and delicate while others have the structure to stand up to a meal?

We'll taste five wines that illustrate the major approaches to rosé production, including direct press, skin contact, saignée, co-fermentation, and the methods used to create sparkling rosé. Along the way, we'll talk about anthocyanins, phenolics, extraction, and the chemistry behind those beautiful shades of pink. It's a great look at a category whose diversity is often overlooked and one that proves rosé is much more than a summer pool wine!

As always, no prior wine knowledge is required. Just bring your curiosity and prepare to see rosé in a whole new light.

Drink better. Know more.
