Mary Taylor? Yes, You want to meet her... Friday Tasting Event

Fri May 7, 2021 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT Swirl, 70119

Join us for our socially-distanced, attendance-limited, signup-only Friday night tasting!  Weather permitting, tastings are held on the patio with a max of 6 people per time slot.

The Mary Taylor wines have been stealing prime real estate on our shelves for over a year now. Her unassuming labels could be easily overlooked - nothing flashy here, no trendy gimmicks or eye catching graphics. Traditional, classic wines from unsung regions that are the antithesis of many of the current trends. No ridiculous price tags either...incredibly affordable, authentic, old world wines for under $20.

So who is Mary Taylor? The first thing that sets her apart is that she is in a rare position of being a woman in the wine import business. She first fell in love with wine in the early 1990’s and it was the European classics that stole her heart. As a young professional selling French and Italian wine, first in the New York wine auctions and then as a merchant, she quickly learned to appreciate wine in the “Old World” way— not as a high priced luxury good reserved for special occasions, but a living agricultural product that belongs to everyday life. That appreciation led her to create Mary Taylor Wine as a way to offer regular folks the honest, authentic wines that the Europeans have been enjoying for centuries.

Her wine import company is all about bringing broader awareness of the history and culture of incredible European wines to the masses at reasonable prices. She partners with grower-producers who farm their land respectfully and who are true artisans. While the majority of the wineries are independent, she also works with small co-operatives whose viticulture practices align with her values of sustainability, minimal intervention, and artisanship.

We are super excited to have Mary pouring at our Friday Night Tasting Event this week! Our friends at Lirette Selections have a great lineup of her wines and Mary will be pouring the following on Friday -
Mary Taylor, Sylvain Minoit Saint Pourçain Rosé (2020)
Mary Taylor, Pascal Biotteau Anjou Blanc (2019)
Mary Taylor, Cahors Odile Delpon (2017)
Mary Taylor, Clara Sala Sicilia (2019)
