Friday Night Wine School - Oceans to Mountains, Historical & Geographical Influences in Chile & Argentina

Join us for our attendance-limited, signup-only Friday night tasting!  Tastings are held on the back patio with a max of 10 people per time slot.

While the wine regions of Chile and Argentina share a 3000+ mile border, they couldn't be more different in terms of climate, altitude, soil, grape varieties and overall grape-growing conditions.  The Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean have a profound impact on the terroir of their wine regions, as Argentina greatly benefits from the barrier that the Andes provide, while Chile, on the other side of the mountain, benefits from its proximity to the Pacific Ocean.   

But it's not just geography that has shaped these 2 prolific wine regions.  Settled by different peoples at different times, history has played a significant role in forming wine production in Argentina and Chile. The wine industries in both countries have deep-rooted historical backgrounds that have influenced grape varieties, winemaking techniques, and the overall wine culture.

Join us tonight as we taste wines from both countries and discuss how history and geography have shaped these prolific wine regions, influencing the grape varieties grown, vineyard practices employed, and the diverse array of wines produced.  Wines are still TBD but you can be sure there will be a red from my favorite Argentine producer, Carmello Patti. I hope you'll join us!

-We will hold our tastings outside on the patio from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Fridays weather permitting, if it rains we move inside to the back of the shop.
-Your $5 tasting fee is refunded when you purchase a bottle of wine from the tasting. Limit 1 refund per bottle per customer.
-Please arrive 5 minutes early for your time slot as we may not be able to move you to another spot.
-No waiting in line for your taste of wine in a plastic cup and snippet of info. During your time slot, you will have the presenter's undivided attention as you learn about and taste the wines from Riedel glassware.
-When your tasting is over you can browse and shop or enjoy a glass or bottle at our indoor and outdoor tables.
