Intergalactic Planet Show Game #2 - (11 April) - A Megagame

Sat 11 Apr 2026 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Lachlan's Line Auditorium Lachlan's Line Square, Jarvis Cct, North Ryde, 2113

Get planet crafting! After intergalactic travel was found, 10 Corporations bought up everything that existed. These 10, the most powerful forces in the universe, became bored. They decided to do what anyone would do, discover and terraform planets and compete them in the Intergalactic Planet Show!

The Intergalactic Planet Show is a colourful sci-fantastic megagame where you take up the role of an alien in one of these corporations. Craft planets, explore the intergalactic universe and try to win awards like 'The best planet to be stranded on'.

IPS is crunchy and rules driven, with improv and creative thinking on top. You and your team will build a tableau of cards, use the card powers together to get resources and fuse cards together into new and Wondrous cards. The game will be big and full of energy, and trusts you as players to gather some of their resources, and discuss and prepare for each round.

Each team has a sphere of gameplay that they have a unique affinity to. That's right! 10 Spheres of gameplay. You won't need to learn more than 2, but it always helps to know what your team members need. That means across your 5 member team, different roles will interact with different parts of the game, some are more mechanical, creative or social, but all of them interact with the base mechanics of planet and card use.

If you like finding combinations of rules to pull off neat effects, improvising and creatively combining card themes to form new things, or negotiating and making deals you'll find that in IPS.

You can read more about the game on 📃our website.

⚠️Note: Tickets to this game will be sold per generic team. The exact Corporation your team will take charge of will be decided via a casting form following ticket sales.

Policies and Notices

House Rules

We all have a responsibility to contribute to a safe, respectful, and fair gaming environment.

Sydney Megagamers Inc. requires that all players will:

Be Respectful

  • Prioritise the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of themselves and others.

  • Always act in an inclusive and non-discriminatory manner towards all persons.

  • Treat everyone with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity, being mindful of people’s individual experiences and views.

  • Take appropriate care when handling game materials.

Be Kind

  • Contribute to a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all.

  • Share laughter - never at someone else’s expense.

  • Offer support and encouragement, especially to newer participants.

  • Extend help when needed, not just rules or corrections.

Act with Integrity

  • Be accountable for their own actions.

  • Play fairly and to the best of their ability.

Refund Policy

We offer refunds up to 14 days prior to the event. After that time, and up to 48 hours prior to the event, we will offer a refund if we are able to otherwise resell your ticket to another player.

We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds in the last 48 hours prior to the event, even if we manage to find someone to take your place in the game.

If you purchased a ticket and would like to seek a refund, please email us or contact us on our Discord. Refunds may not be inclusive of several nominal fees charged during the admin of ticketing, meaning the refunded price may be slightly less than what you originally paid.

Photography Notice

Photographs and Video may be taken at this event by organisers, members of our volunteer team, and other attendees.

By purchasing a ticket to this event, you understand that:

  • You may appear in photographs or recordings taken during the event.

  • These images may be used for non-commercial purposes, including documentation, recap posts, and future event promotion.

  • If you prefer not to be photographed, please speak with the organisers at any time and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. We will give out a lanyard to indicate you don't want photos.

We ask all attendees to be respectful when taking and sharing photos of others.

If you see an image of yourself online that you would like removed, please contact the organisers and we will act promptly.

When Teams Are Missing Players

While we hope to sell all tickets to our events, circumstances such as illness, late cancellations, or slower ticket sales may mean that some teams are short on players in the lead-up to the game.

When this happens, we will:

  • Reach out to the affected teams ahead of time, where possible, to keep them informed.

  • Work directly with those players to ensure their experience remains enjoyable, including exploring suitable adjustments or alternatives as needed.

Our goal is always to maintain a smooth, engaging, and fair game for all participants, even when numbers fluctuate unexpectedly.

Funding and Merchandise

Sydney Megagamers is a not-for-profit association which uses funds collected to fuel our passion in bringing megagame events to Sydney. Nobody involved in running our events receives remuneration - we are all volunteers.

As a way to represent the community and to help us out, we offer a few pieces of merchandise when buying tickets. This merchandise is entirely optional - buying a ticket to our event helps balance our books for running that event, buying merch is just a plus!

Funds produced from merchandise help us invest more into future events and key pieces of inventory to improve the way we do things (things like IT equipment, website hosting fees, etc).

If you do choose to purchase any merchandise, physical items will be available to pick up when you arrive at the event. If you're unsure, you can also check out (and buy, if so choose!) the merchandise on game day.

For a snapshot on how we are funded and how we operate, you can read our 2024 Year in Review on our website.

We always appreciate your support, and coming to a megagame is the best support there is!
