Earth is uninhabitable. Five years ago, in our darkest hour, a vessel of unknown origins came to our aid, broadcasting in all languages. Humanity’s best and brightest have set off into the vastness of space on a journey to an unknown destination - hopefully a new home - aboard the Ark.

That was five years ago.

The Ark is our home and responsibility, even if we barely know how it works. If we break it, we die. If it doesn’t produce enough food to feed the people on it, we starve. If we go offship and the Ark leaves, we’re stranded.

Designed by Leon Obrenov from Melbourne Megagames, The Ark is a complex game of resource management, intrigue, mystery, factional politics, changing loyalties, and constant crises. Players, in teams of four, play the role of survivors on board The Ark, working together to preserve the human race and find a home for its future generations.

You can read more about the game and the different teams 📄 here.

Tickets on sale from 9am, Monday 10 July 2023.

Interested, but no idea what a megagame is? We’ve got you covered:

About the Day

  • The game will be held on Saturday, 30 September, at Harold Park Community Hall in Sydney.
  • Light rail from Central gets you there very quickly, but there is also a smattering of parking around the area, and several bus routes.
  • Doors will open around 9:30am on the day, and we’ll likely be at the venue through to 5pm.
  • There will be an after-event at a local pub or bar. More information about that will be circulated to players before the day.
  • The game is a full day. Players are encouraged to bring or organise lunch. The venue is nearby plenty of grocers and takeaway stores.

Ticketing Information

  • Tickets are categorised by the 11 teams, 4 tickets within each. You may buy a maximum of 4 (the size of a team) should you choose.
  • If you are purchasing multiple tickets, have the contact information for your teammates on hand (name, email address).
  • Please do not purchase tickets if you do not have a confirmed attendee for them.
  • You can read a short introduction to the different teams here.
  • If you miss out, or are unable to attend the game on this date, there will be a ‘waiting list’ link attached to this event page after all tickets have sold out. Those on the waitlist will receive priority for tickets to future runs of The Ark.
  • Some tickets were sold in pre-sale. Given how quickly tickets sell, we often thank our previous game Moderators (volunteers who run the event) by letting them purchase tickets to the next game before public sales occur.

Refund Policy

  • We offer refunds up to 14 days prior to the event.
  • After that time, and up to 48 hours prior to the event, we will offer a refund if we are able to otherwise re-sell your ticket to another hopeful player.
  • We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds in the last 48 hours prior to the event.
  • If you purchased a ticket and would like to seek a refund, please email us.
  • Refunds are not inclusive of several nominal fees charged during the admin of ticketing
