Experience an unforgettable evening of masterworks performed by the Tahoe Philharmonic Orchestra featuring celebrated guest artists and some of the most beloved music ever written.
The program opens with a lively Mozart overture—either The Impresario or The Marriage of Figaro—full of wit, elegance, and sparkling energy that sets the tone for the evening.
Violinist Kevin Matheson takes center stage in Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen, a fiery and virtuosic showpiece inspired by Hungarian folk melodies. Bursting with passion, flair, and technical brilliance, this work is always a crowd favorite.
Next, pianist Jennifer Savage performs Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor, one of the most thrilling and recognizable concertos in the repertoire. From its dramatic opening to its lyrical slow movement and exhilarating finale, this piece showcases both power and beauty in equal measure.
After intermission, the orchestra presents Beethoven’s "Victory" Symphony No. 5, one of the most iconic works in all of classical music. With its famous four-note opening motif and triumphant journey from darkness to light, this symphony is a powerful and inspiring conclusion to the concert.
